English Cover Supervisor – South Sheffield | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in South Sheffield to recruit a reliable and engaging English Cover Supervisor for the new academic year. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for English language and literature to support Key Stage 3 and 4 students in a vibrant school environment.

Start Date: September 2025 Onboarding: Candidates will be onboarded from May half-term to ensure a smooth start in September Pay Rate: £85 – £110 per day (depending on experience)

About the Role:

We’re looking to onboard strong candidates ahead of the new school year. As an English Cover Supervisor, you’ll deliver pre-set lessons during teacher absences, helping students stay on task and making a positive impact in their learning journey. You’ll also be expected to step in for other subjects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned English lessons to KS3 and KS4 students

• Foster engagement in reading, writing, and classroom discussion

• Provide brief feedback on student progress and lesson engagement

• Offer general cover across the curriculum when required

• Work with staff to uphold a consistent, positive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, or education setting

• A keen interest in English language and literature

• Strong communication and classroom management skills

• Confidence and adaptability in a classroom environment

• A degree in English or a related subject is a bonus, but not essential

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Location: Based in a welcoming secondary school in South Sheffield, accessible from Woodseats, Heeley, Dore, Norton, and surrounding areas.
