Maths Cover Supervisor – South Sheffield | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is delighted to work with a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in South Sheffield to recruit a confident and enthusiastic Maths Cover Supervisor. This full-time role will begin in the May half-term and run through the entire next academic year, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

🟢 Pay Rate: £90 – £110 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Role:

As a Maths Cover Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering pre-planned Maths lessons to KS3 and KS4 students in the absence of the classroom teacher. You’ll support pupils’ learning, manage behaviour effectively, and help maintain a productive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-prepared Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

• Support and encourage students to stay engaged and on task

• Report on pupil progress and classroom issues to appropriate staff

• Supervise small group and independent learning activities

• Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience working in a secondary school setting (essential)

• Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics

• Confident classroom management and communication skills

• A calm, positive, and proactive approach

• A genuine passion for education and student development

• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
