Cover Supervisor (English) – Birmingham

Location: Birmingham (B18) Start Date: September (onboarding in May) Day Rate: £95 to £100 per day

We’re working with a large secondary school in central Birmingham to recruit a Cover Supervisor to support English lessons across KS3 and KS4. You’ll be working with classes of approximately 25–30 pupils, delivering pre-set English work in the absence of the class teacher. This role has opened due to an unfilled vacancy within the English department.

Role Responsibilities:

• Supervise English classes during teacher absence using pre-planned resources

• Support students with reading comprehension, writing tasks, and exam preparation

• Maintain a calm and focused learning environment

• Report on student behaviour and engagement after each session

Candidate Requirements:

• Experience working with secondary-aged students

• Strong literacy skills and interest in English as a subject

• Confident classroom presence and behaviour management

• Available for supply work from September
