Year 1 Teacher – Permanent Role Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Permanent Location: Highgate (B12) Salary: M2 – £30,000 per year
A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Highgate (B12) is recruiting a Year 1 Teacher for a permanent position starting this September. The vacancy has arisen due to classroom growth, with onboarding beginning in May to ensure a confident start to the academic year.
This one-form entry school was rated Good in its last Ofsted inspection and offers a nurturing environment with a strong emphasis on early reading and phonics. The incoming teacher will be supported by an experienced TA and benefit from a structured curriculum and phonics scheme.
The class includes a small group of EAL pupils and two children with EHCPs; SEND support is coordinated closely with the SENCO and Inclusion Team.
Requirements:
QTS with recent experience in Key Stage 1
Confidence teaching systematic phonics and early reading
Strong differentiation and classroom routines
Willingness to work closely with the KS1 team and external agencies
